Good Thursday morning to all of my dear blogging friends.  Can you see me doing the happy dance?  Well, I am.  I'm celebrating today because...

A few weeks ago I entered a giveaway over at Gracie's Cottage for a chance to win one of three freshly-laundered authentic American "farm-used" grain, seed & flour sacks that are 60-80 years old.  And I WON!  I am so excited!  I have been wanting one of these, but I have never seen them anywhere here in Canada.  And this grain sack is huge, it's about 20" x 40".  I took the photo below to try and give you an idea of how large it is.

Now I am wondering what to do with it.
If I had an old wooden bench, I would put a body pillow in it and use it that way.
But, I don't, so I am looking for ideas.  Should I cut it up and cover pillows with it?
Should I use it over the back of one of the cushions on my sofa like it is in the first photo?  HELP!  I really want to use it to it's greatest potential.  Just tell me what you would do with it if it was yours.
Thanks so much.

And a very special ThAnKs goes out to Gracie.  Check out her blog and her etsy shop when you get a chance, too.

It is wonderful, though, isn't it!?

Love and Hugs, Cindy

Thanks for all the sweet comments you left today.
So happy for you my friend! Hip hip hooray! Love that old feedsack. I'd have to agree with Ana. Find yourself a bench. It's sort of like having the shoes before the outfit. It'll cost more but when the shoes are to die for, you'll go find the matching outfit. So go find that perfect bench! Don't cut that pretty thing up. I love that it's huge. Love ya!

Lucky You!! I like it on the back cushion of your couch until you can think of some other place like a new bench. :-)

Hi! I'm your new follower. My sweet cousin, Tammy with Beatrice Banks, sent me over to your blog. First thing I noticed was the Scrabble word, "Winter". Nearly every time I go to my favorite antique shop, there's a particular vendor who decorates so cute with the Shabby Chic decor. She always uses the Scrabble letters to display various words to match her decor. I love your blog, look forward to visiting again, and welcome you to visit my blog, too.

Well, congratulations sweet Cindy! That's such an awesome gift to win. I'm happy for you! Hmmm, I would probably be too chicken to cut it up. However, with a sack that large you could use every bit of it for something. Make a pillow (or two?) and then use any scraps for another project. Have fun!

Hi Cindy,
You lucky girl!! What a wonderful grain sack!! I actually love the way you used it in the first photo... great idea! You could cut it up to make pillow covers with. I've also seen them used draped over an ottomen as an accent... loved that! I think I'm going to do that with one of mine. Have fun with it, whatever you decide to do.
Have a wonderful weekend coming up!!
Jo :)

Hi Cindy!
What a nice surprise for you.
I was thinking that maybe you could use it as a wall hanging or a table runner. Maybe cover a small upholstered chair with it.
Love your blog. Thanks for posting so regularly.

Congrats Cindy...what a wonderful giveaway to win! I probably couldn't cut it up but I do like it wrapped around your pillow though.

I'm still working on my kitchen plans...white cabinets, white farm sink and that's all I've got for now. I'll keep ya posted! ~Deb~
