Master Bedroom

I am joining Perfectly Imperfect again today for Style Feature Saturday.

I have been wanting to do something with my bedroom, but had no idea what to do.  To me it just wasn't cozy and comfy enough for my liking.  It looked like a mish-mash of funiture, rather than something that looked like it belonged together.  No, I'm not into mitchy-matchy either, but something was lacking.

Last year one of my neighbors gave me an old dresser.  Sorry, but I can't find the before photo.  It was painted very nicely, but not to match my rooms.  After a couple of coats of white paint, I think it look beautiful.

After a little more tweaking, our master bedroom now looks like this.

I love vintage chenille and have several bedspreads that I use in my home.  I enjoy having bits of pink everywhere and my sweet hubby never says a word about it, I'm so glad.  Thanks, babe, for not minding the pink.  (And yes, he does read my blog.)

Thanks so much for coming by today, be sure to go over to Perfectly Imperfect.  If you enjoy seeing makeovers, she has some wonderful ones.  I think she does that for a living, because she has some gorgeous funiture that she has painted and made really beautiful!

I hope your Saturday is as sunny and beautiful as ours is here in Manitoba.

Outdoor Wednesday

A couple of weeks ago we visited the south-central area of Manitoba, I think we got some really good shots.  Enjoy!

I love photos of old churches, there is something so beautiful about them, especially the spires, peeking out between the leaves.

I'm afraid I have been experiencing blog-block lately, that's why I have not been posting much.

There are lakes everywhere you go in Manitoba.  There are over 110,000 lakes in this province, according to Wikipedia.

Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have enjoyed seeing the photos.
Our weather has been beautiful and hot, the day before yesterday it was 100 deg. with the humidex.  That is HOT!  I was certainly grateful for central air that day!

I am linking up with Outdoor Wednesday over at A Southern Daydreamer, stop over there and see what else is up.

Hugs,

Cindy

A New Patio and a Garage Makeover!

Welcome to my blog, I am joining "Style Feature Saturday" over at Perfectly Imperfect!  It's a lovely blog, so be sure to check it out.

Today I want to show you more of my patio and how we have made over the exterior of our garage.  We have finished it and are really loving the look of it.  Meaning that we really need to get some comfy patio furniture so we can enjoy sitting out on it, too.
This is what it looks like now...not the greatest photo, my plants are droopy from the 87 deg. F. weather that we are enjoying.
But you get the picture...

BEFORE
(of patio)
If you look closely you will see the basement window that is in the first photo, also.  That area was a mucky hole and we had to do something with it.  We started with the idea of paving it with sidewalk squares, but after investigating prices, we found them to be very expensive.  But then...my husband found them for FREE!  So that brought down the price of the patio considerably.

BEFORE
 (of garage)
Our little nephew was enjoying himself earlier this year when he and his mommy were visiting us.

AFTER
It looks a little better does it not?!
You can see that we haven't replaced the door frame or gotten the eaves troughs up yet, but it is greatly improved already!

I think it looks so darling sitting there behind the old crab apple tree.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the makeover of our little garage and patio.  I will show you more of the patio at a later date.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend relaxing with someone you love and doing something you enjoy.

Daisy, Daisy

Daisy, daisy, give me your answer do,

I'm half crazy, all for the love of you!

I love daisies, they are one of my favorite flowers.  My daughter-in-law has them growing at their new home and she so kindly told me I could dig some up for my garden.  So now I have some in my garden, as well as in my house.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a lovely day!

Yard Sale Finds

For our Sunday drive, my husband and I headed out to a small town in the country where our son and his family have purchased a home.  On the way we came upon a Moving Sale, and my dear hubby, smart man that he is, didn't even ask me if I wanted to stop, he simply pulled over to the side of the road and I got out.  I found these two good sized pillows for $2.50 each.  I thought it was a good price because they are clean, very soft and look great.

Can you see how the sides are squared off?  I keep thinking how great they would look covered in burlap, with small, white, double muslin ruffles around it.  What do you think?

I also found another white queen size chenille bedspread for $4.00, but it's in the laundry.

So that's it, thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving a sweet comment.  I am joining Rhoda over at Southern Hospitality so be sure to check out what Rhoda is up to.  And see what others have scored over the weekend.

Have a wonderful Monday!

Pink Yumminess

Hi!  I hope you are enjoying a sun-filled Saturday.

One of my neighbors is a collectors of all things vintage and he gave me some lovely pink treasures recently and I am so excited to show them to you.

Can you see the sweet etchings on them?

I think they are depression glass, am I right?

I love the color!  I have paired them with the little egg cups that I got for 10 cents each at a garage sale.

I am also loving the pink petunias in my flower bed...

...and in my flower box.  My hubby made the new flower boxes for me this Spring.  The old ones were rotting out.  They look very fresh and sweet, I think.

Here's wishing you a lovely weekend!

A Beautiful Window Box

My daughter sent me this photo of the window box on a shed a couple of months ago.

I got so many lovely comments about the window box that I wanted to show you how much the flowers have grown.  My daughter sent me the second photo just last week.  It's in a very sunny location, so it has grown very quickly.  Sorry that the photo is so blurry, but doesn't the red chair look great there?  This was a chair that she found at a garage sale recently for very little.  I am on the lookout for a couple of old iron chairs like that, they would look so wonderful on my patio.

Her kids are growing very quickly, too.  This photo was taken on Mother's Day.

Thank you for stopping by, be sure to leave a comment.

Be sweet...

Beautiful Manitoba

For anyone who thinks Manitoba is nothing but boring prairie landscape, all of these photos were taken in the Pembina Valley of Manitoba.  And this area is nothing short of gorgeous!    We ventured here for the first time on July the 1st, Canada Day.  I hope you enjoyed the photo journey.

I am linking with Outdoor Wednesday over at A Southern Daydreamer and Watery Wednesday

There is always lots to see there, so be sure to take a look.  Thanks for taking the time to stop by here and leave a comment.  I hope your Wednesday is bright and beautiful.

Edit:  The golden yellow fields are planted with Canola.  We all love Canola Oil, right?  Well we grow and export a whole lot of it.

Sweet Daughter's Gardens

Good Monday morning, I hope you had a fun, relaxing weekend.  My daughter who lives in the state of Washington sent me an email filled with photos of her lovely yard and flower gardens.  So, I will share them with you today.

I really love the last photo, somehow, it brings to mind lazy sun drenched days swinging lazily on a tire swing.  I know my grand children enjoy the swing very much and spend a lot of time there, fussing about whose turn it is and then swinging joyfully, as children do.

I hope you enjoyed!

Hugs,
