~Celebrate Spring~

Fair Spring! whose simplest promise more delights
Than all their largest wealth, and thro' the heart
Each joy and new-born hope
With softest influence breathes.
                             Anna Lætitia Barbauld
Spring!  Such a lovely word!  Today I am celebrating Spring.  I want to show you what I am doing around my house to welcome Spring and bring a bit of color in, too.
Outside everything is still covered in snow.
The snow is not on the roof any longer, but other than that, this is what it looks like here in the Spring time 2011.

But, inside a blush of pink has been showing up here and there.

To add a bit of color to my table, I simply made a runner to go crosswise.  It didn't take much fabric, but it makes an impact, nevertheless.

I love the little statues of the praying woman and man on the mantel.  Prayer is the Christians most important resource.

March the 22nd is a significant day for's my birthday!  I love the date block that my daughter, Carolyn gave me.  It sits beside a vintage nut meat chopper, and on top of a vintage enamelware box.
Hope your day is wonderful!!!

I am joining A Delightsome Life today for a "Celebrate Spring" party!  Get your party hat on and come on over.

Please forgive my tardy greetings to you, I have not been blogging surfing much. But I was celebrating on your birthday as that was our wedding anniv. and I was so suprised to read that you and I are almost the same age, I am a few months your senior though.
Your birthday trip with your sisters sounds perfect!
so I am sending you birthday well wishes, just a week late

I finally made it to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and got me some Spring tablecloths. I love to have something springy to set the scene. The daffodils in my vases help too.
