April in Manitoba

Hello my friends, I hope your Wednesday has brought sunshine and blossoms!  The sun is shining here in Manitoba, but the blossoms have not appeared yet.

April in Manitoba.

The Red River is slowly breaking up,

You can see where the open water meets the frozen part here.

The Geese are returning,

The Eagles are feeding on the frozen river.

We are peaking through the grasses along the road to capture these.

Flying home...

...to safety. We could see there were two in the trees.
The deer are on the move...
We saw about 25 of them on just that one road.

The sun was beginning to set as we headed home.

I am joining Watery Wednesday today.

I love the country side, the fields and the river.  Spring is a time of change, of awakening.  We are seeing a few changes in our lives, too.  How about you.

Enjoy your day!

Hugs,

Hi, Cindy...

We are in full bloom here and enjoying it. Some things have already bloomed and are bloomed out... the azaleas for one.

I enjoyed seeing these nature shots. They were really wonderful, and seeing the eagles feed was so neat. Thanks for sharing your world with us.

XO,

Sheila :-)

These are beautiful scenes.
We are seeing less geese and swans as they have started to fly north. And today... it is snowing again. (not much, but still annoying)

I really hadn't realised what different weather you have there to here in England. We really have fully embarked on Spring now. All signs of winter have long gone.

Your photos, as always, are stuuuuuunning. How amazing to have wildlife like that so close to you.

This collection of photos is great - it's about the same here. Your words at the end encourage us all who wait for Spring - just a little longer than most others have to wait.

Beautiful pictures Cindy. I love the eagle shots. I see them around the dam often but they are too high in the sky and I never have my camera. They showed the Red River on the news today and people are sandbagging to protect their homes and property. So difficult! I dont' know if the St. John River will flood this year. There were terrible floods last spring and in December so hopefully the people along it will be spared this spring! It was sunny but a cold windy day here today. I do notice some of the trees are starting to bud though ;-) Blessings, Pamela

What a wonderful post. Eagles are rare in our parts. I did see one during my commute one day. They are so beautiful.

What great photos you got of the Eagle and the deer. I love the sky in the last photo. I hope the floods aren't too bad this year.
