Is Blue Your Color

If so...then this kitchen might appeal to you.
If you read the Country Woman magazine, you may have noticed that what they see as country has changed dramatically.  It was a much needed change in my opinion.  In fact the last one I looked at was featuring a kitchen from a popular blog, which one it was totally escapes me at the moment, but it was a really nice country kitchen.
While on their website recently I came across this kitchen that I will show you today.

Aren't the sink and range fabulous!!!

I believe her husband built the china hutch for her, too.
Isn't it lovely.
Or how about this beauty below.

Another fabulously gorgeous sink and range!

I could cook up a storm in this one.

A place for the vintage goodies and...

...even a beautiful laundry room to go along with it, with a bathroom beyond, how great is that!  I love the doors and trim.

I love this second kitchen, it has some of the same elements as my kitchen, such as bead-board back splash, painted pine ceiling and school house light fixture.
Mine would be a mini version of it, though.

I took some interesting photos of the Red River ice-flows this morning on my walk and I have been busy sewing.  That's probably what I will be doing more of tomorrow.
What project are you working on, please tell me.

Have a great weekend!

Hugs,

Hi, Cindy...

I love them both. Country kitchens have always had a place in my heart, particularly since I associate them with my grandmother whose kitchen would fit in perfectly today. It was always adorable, and she had free standing white cabinets, a screen to hide the hot water heater, a cute table painted white with white chairs and cushions. I still see the whole thing in my minds eye, and I have her jelly cupboard... only I now use it in a bedroom.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Thanks for sharing these--the blue one speaks to me! AND I have a phone just like the old one in the other kitchen photo....It is still over at the Spindle Cottage and this weekend we need to make some decisions on stuff left over there!

These are great kitchens but I think I prefer the second one best. I love the farmhouse sink and the little telephone nook. I'm planning for a luncheon on Tuesday with the Bible study girls (chickens, we call ourselves). I'm hosting and I want to make it special with a springtime theme. Have a great weekend. Blessings, Pamela

The blue and white has such a Scandinavian feel! I love white kitchens because you can change the feeling in the room by changing the accent colors!

Love them!! I would so love an all white house, or just kitchen. But with four kids and three dogs, it is not happening! lol

Love that kitchen except it is a little too blue for my taste. I would love to own that sink and stove. I have been badgering, I mean begging my husband for a farmhouse sink but for now they are out of our price range.
Cheers,
Carrie

Hi Cindy,

The first kitchen reminds me of the old Victorian farmhouse where I grew up ... well, if Martha Stewart had lived there and worked her magic! My dad still lives there, in HIS boyhood home. Blue's his favorite color. I think I'll print your photos. It's only been 40 years since the most recent renovation (other than painting the walls) -- might be time for a vintage-looking update!

Thank you for sharing the charming inspriation!

These kitchens are adorable! The first one is a little too much blue for me but I love the cabinets and layout. Love the laundry room too. And your kitchen looks even prettier than the 2nd one!

Cindy,
The kitchens are beautiful. Blue is not my color for decorating, but that blue kitchen blew me away! It is spectacular! Love the range and the sink too...Going back to look at it again now!
I was going to plant some pansies today, but it's too cold and damp for me to venture out..

Thank you for sharing these lovely kitchens. What an amazing collection of beautiful plates, and ornaments in the blue kitchen!
Like most folk, I prefer the more neutral tones. I like the shelf of plants by the window.
I wonder what you are sewing :)

Hi Cindy,
My favorite is as yours the second (white) kitchen. I love that sink!
The blue kitchen is beautiful but tooooo blue for me! However I love that stove!
Yes my dear, today it is a wonderful Spring weather! The roses and peonies we planted last year are growing! I can't wait to see them bloom and hopefully they will be enough roses to place in a vase! I just love flowers!
Cindy, I loved your comment on my latest blogpost! And although you always had to search for beauty when you was younger, well no you have not any lack of it anymore!! In your cottage you are surrounded by beauty!!!
Wish you a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Greet

Hi Cindy, I thought about this blue post while I was at church yesterday. I can explain :)
we attend a kind of big church and sit toward the back on the right side. I was looking over the backs all the people ahead and to the side of us, and so many were wearing blue. It seemed like most every man had on a blue shirt, lots of different shades.
I think blue looks pretty in kitchens and on people. :)
hope you are having a nice Monday

Beautiful kitchens! The blue is too blue for me - if the walls were white and the counters a different color then it would be much 'calmer' & then 'I could cook up the storm'. :) The second one is just about perfect.

The country kitchens look quite American to me.
Cosy but too big.
Here in Belgium, we are used to smaller kitchens.

So I absolutely adore your kitchenpictures but I prefer my own Belgian little kitchen.
