Garage Sales are Back!

Hello my friends, I hope you are all having a lovely week.
It feels like Summer here today!
I am going to mow the lawn once it cools down, for the first time this year.  The leaves are coming out on the trees and the fruit trees will soon be blossoming, life is GOOD!

And, with the warm weather comes garage sales.
See what we found this week and last.

The pretty blue Coleman cooler was $2.00 and my neighbor gave me the white enamel bucket, isn't it sweet?

My sweet husband is my hero, he saw these on the curb and brought them home for me.  I need to clean up the old sewing machine cabinet, it has a not-so-nice smell, then I will put it in my living room.  The bookshelf will get a nice coat or two of white paint and a shelf on the bottom, I haven't decided where it will go yet.

My neighbor, who is a collector of vintage items, knows I like to use old buckets and he gave me this one.  Isn't it great?  I think it will make a great planter.

I picked up a couple of other things that I will show you at a later date.

Have a good week!

Hugs,

You and your husband both did well. You'll have fun cleaning and painting the furniture and filling the white pail - and then there'll be another garage sale next week, I'm sure.

You snagged some really great things! Isn't it fun to figure out what to do with an older item , and to give it a new lease, or purpose in life?

Cool! And I have the exact same Coleman cooler! We got it from a sale about 30 years ago but I don't remember what we paid for it. It's on a shelf in the basement!! What will we use them for? Filled with ice and soda pop for a party? They are pretty heavy compared to the new plastic ones. I love the enamal ware too. Great finds! I'm glad you are getting summery weather. We may get a few days of it too. Can't wait. Blessings, Pamela

Those are awesome Cindy! I can't believe that bookcase was on the side of the road! My girl is wanting one of those so bad. Maybe I need to start driving around looking by the trash bins!

Thanks for coming by Cindy. Things are a tad hectic around our house and I am behind on visiting! Thought I had better pop over here while I have a minute. Is the moon full?;-)

I especially love those vintage buckets--there is something about enamelware that just speaks to me! Interesting old cabinet--will you use it for an end table? The old coleman cooler reminds me of my childhood camping days.

Concerning the book I mentioned. I think you would love it. It starts off rather sadly but moves to glory! My grands have also done this to me---what you were saying in your comment. Do come back and listen to the video in the previous post if you haven't! It is by the author of the book.

I LOVE your old Coleman ice chest. Wow. The things you could put in there! I just bought a huge enamel pan (white with blue trim) that is larger than a birthday cake pan........for $2.50 at a thrift store. It has a stamp on the back that says it was used for photography. I have a pineapple in it right now....don't know for sure what to do with it?
I found a curly-q little stand in a pile waiting for the trashman the other night while riding bikes, my husband took me back in his truck and now it is in the Spider Tree Garden.
I'd much rather have old things than new.
