Living Room Rearranged

Today is June the 1st!  We are nearly half way through 2011 already.  It doesn't seem to have taken long.

I have made a few changes that I wanted to show you.  This is what my fireplace mantle looks like now.  I did have two large chairs on each side of the fireplace, one was a wing back and the other was a leather recliner.

But now the couch is in front of the ugly dark brick fireplace.  Now that summer is soon to be upon us we won't need the warmth from it, so I thought I would hide it!
I took up the area rug also.

One end of the couch...

...and the other end.

Across from the couch are two matching chairs.  I love the fact that they are alike, I think it makes the room feel more complete.  And now my old treadle is between those two chairs.

And behind the chairs...

...and at the end of the chairs.

Okay, I hope you enjoyed the mini tour.
Have a lovely day, my friends.  Are you rearranging things in your house for the warmer weather?  If so tell me what you are doing and thanks for coming by.

Hugs,

Good morning Cindy! Well, I guess it's just afer noon here. Happy June 1st! I like the layout of your living room furniture. I think it's a great idea to hide the fireplace for the summer months. I also took up our area rug for the summer. You have some wonderful furnishings and decor that make your home so cozy and inviting. Have a great day! Blessings and hugs, Pamela

Yes, I certainly enjoyed the tour as always! It's nice to move things around and bring about a freshness to rooms. Everything looks as neat as a pin in your house! Lovely. I can't believe it's already June. Where is the time going?

Your home is lovely. I like the idea of the couch in front of the fireplace, never thought of that (well we have a raised hearth so it probably would not work. It's always good to think "outside the box!"

Dearest Cindy,

Thanks for your comment; I follow you now and you are more than welcome to do the same.
Great idea to move things around for summer time. It looks very cozy in your living room! We are in the process of moving our furniture also more toward the fireplace. The lamp above the coffee table is hung right but the area rug and all else needs to shift. Before with sparks from the fireplace's wood, it had to be farther off but we have now imitation logs on gas. No more sparks flying around.
Yeah, I guess we keep changing and updating till we die... hope that is not too soon!

Lots of love,

Mariette

It all looks very nice. It is so fun to change things around. I have been doing it too but not because of warmer weather..we are still in a world of cold here! ;D

Oh...I loved seeing more of your home. I am wanting to move some things around. Today I sold some things - took them to a local antique shop that I've sold to before. I took things that I like but just don't fit in. They were good in my last house but are just in the way here. Of course the dealer was happy to get them and as I left...he said...."Bring me more!" Now I'm looking around my house and thinking..."What else am I tired of?"

Yes i enjoyed the tour Cindy! I love your home!
Our first home was just like this in Niagara. I had the identical brick fireplace same colour! I don't think it's ugly at all. I wish i could find a home like this here but as you know they are not here lol !!

Love seeing photos of your home!!!

Hi Cindy
It's always nice to chnage things around for the seasons, isn't it? Do you find yourself automatically starting to sit down in the spot where the sofa was? I have done that on occasion!

What a lovely room, Cindy! I love your idea for removing the rug for the summer...it would give the room a lighter feel! Thanks for your comments on my Bachman's house posts!

Hi Cindy! Just jumped over from another blog. :) Your home is gorgeous! I love the idea of moving the sofa right in front of the fireplace. It gives the effect of a great shelf back there. :)

Love the bits of turquoise everywhere! I really love the light fixture just resting there on the fireplace. I hate to say but I think that lamp should wear your flower pin all the time. It looks so cute there! Loved seeing more of your house.

Hi Cindy, Love the pop of turquoise decor in your home! Looks great. Since you were hiding the dark fireplace, have you thought of painting it a light color? I don't care for the color of my fireplace and was thinking a cream might be nice. I love rearranging and picking up Summer items to freshen and brighten the house after a long, dreary Winter!
