An Autumn Mantel

Hello my friends, it feels like I have been gone forever, but I am back now and I am so glad that you have come by today.

I will have some photos of South Dakota next week.  That has got to be one of the most beautiful states in the USA.
The Black Hills are unbelievably unique and gorgeous!

Today I want to show you what I have done in my living room to get ready for Fall.  Like many of you, I love to decorate for the different seasons.

I will show you this side of the room today.  I am using faux flowers, pumpkins and gords, but the wheat bundle is real.

Left of the fireplace...

...and right of the fireplace.
The fireplace is electric and it is on for looks only.
It is in fact 22* C or 72* F outside today and very windy.  It is so warm that I have all of the doors open and I'm airing out my house.
The leaves have nearly all changed colour and are falling, I need to get some photos quickly before they are gone.
The neighbors are outside raking the leaves in their shorts and t-shirts, the weather is so nice.

Before I go, here is a photo of my sister and I.  Susan was visiting with us two weekends ago, we had a marvelous time showing her around our city and country side.

Have a great weekend, thank you for coming by and leaving a comment.

Good to see you back! You have the perfect decor for autumn. So warm and cozy! Beautiful touches everywhere! We are having some cooler temps but it warms up in the day. I don't mind b/c I'm really not a fan of cold weather unless staying bundled up inside all day. Your chair looks like the perfect place to snuggle down with a good book.
You and your sis favor! Glad you were able to spend time with her. Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome back to blogland, Cindy. You have really been busy going here and there. You were saying how warm it is where you live. Well, we were all excited about some cool weather we had for a couple of weeks and then the temperature went back into the upper eighties. Oh well-----
Your home looks really nice decorated for fall. The fireplace and mantle are especially pretty. It was nice seeing you and your sister. I bet the two of you are close friends as well as sisters. -----------Shannon

I also like the two chairs pulled up to the fireplace and the way you have decorated your end table with the suitcase and tray is sweet. What a lovely photo of you and your sister! We are in for a sunny and very warm weekend too which seems to make Thanksgiving perfect along with family coming to visit. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Blessings and hugs, Pamela

Your cozy corner looks great all decked out for fall. I could easily see myself curling up there with a good book to read!
I sure see a family resemblence there with you and your sis. It is so much fun to be able to connect with each other, even if only for a short time. I know I sure miss my two sisters.

This is lovely. It reminded me that I have some fall decor to put out. I almost forgot. And it is definitely fall here. After our late summer, when fall came on it came quickly. I usually only decorate my dining room, but perhaps I should spread the joy. Was this the first time you had been to South Dakota? I have only been once and was awesomely impressed with both God's handiwork, and mans. Love, Judy

Cindy,
Your fall decorating looks great. Fireplace mantels are perfect for seasonal changes, especially for cooler weather.
We have very leaf color changes so far - very late for us.
Your kitchen looks beautiful in your previous post, as usual!
When I saw the picture of you and Susan, I knew she must be your sister! Great picture of both of you.

Hi sweet lady...

I'm just doing a little catching up while I am over here at your place. Your autumn mantel decor is beautiful! Sooo colorful and full of autumn's bounty...I love it! Your living room just looks so warm and cozy, my friend! You have made a beautiful home for your family!

I loved getting to see the photo of you and your sister. The two of you look sooo much alike...definitely can tell you are sisters!

We are just now getting autumn weather in our little corner of Colorado. A cool front blew in last Friday and the temperatures have finally dropped. This week the highs will be in the low to mid 60's...and it's dropping down into the 30's at night. We haven't lit our wood stove fireplace yet...but I suspect we will before the week is out. It's always fun...the first lighting of the season! Hehe! Well dear friend, take care and enjoy the season!

Love ya,
Chari
