~A New Project To Work On~

Winter has arrived!  This is what we saw when we got up this morning...

~and~

...do you see the sun rising behind the house on the right?
It's so pretty!

On another subject... I am going to either paint this little cabinet, or I am going to stain it dark walnut.
I am wondering which I should do.

I have it looking like this right now, but it's not meant to stay that way.

This is what it looks like on the other side of the eating area.  It doesn't need to match these cupboards.
My table has dark stained legs, as well as the chairs.
What do you think?

I appreciate hearing your opinions.
Have a lovely day!

Hugs, Cindy

It bloomed snow! How lovely! I nearly love snow as much as I do flowers :D
How about paint the vertical and stain the horizontal - if that makes sense.

What beautiful pictures of snow and sunshine!
Staining would look good for your cabinet and maybe suit the design better.
Hope you're having a happy week!

winter already?!?!?!?

Hmmm...what to do, what to do. How about paint the unit white like your cupboards in the background and then stain the 'counter' area the same as the counter on your cupboards. OR...throw caution to the wind and paint it an entirely different color (something out of the color in curtains or something) and then distress it?

Such a charming cabinet and I think I would paint it rather than stain...maybe try out the new chalk paint in a light color or else black. The snow looks beautiful to this Cali girl but it does seem a bit early. But I can picture you staying nice and cozy in your beautiful kitchen baking and sipping lattes and hot chocolate. All the best,

Jermaine

Beautiful pictures of the winterlandscape Cindy!! Here in Belgium it doesn't winter at all! It is very warm for the time of the year! Unbelievable.
About your cabinet, I might think I would paint it a white color or even in black!
Think about that my dear friend!

I'm not sure I have an opinion as I can't tell what you will do with it. A stain would be nice, but white always brightens up a room ... or maybe you were considering another color! The snow looks wonderful--gentle but not overwhelming, no shoveling yet, right? !

What about painting it a lovely buttery yellow?

Stay warm!!!!

Hi Cindy! Oh, look at the snow! It's beautiful! I love your little cabinet and I know you'll make it look fabulous. I look at it and see white - looks like you! :) Love your scale and that pretty pumpkin. I've got to find me a scale!
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia;)

I think it would be gorgeous if it were stained dark...is it solid wood?

If not, I'd say paint--that is probably the option I'd choose (only because I would look for the easiest way)
...not ready for snow yet.
Stay warm! Pat

I like what someone else suggested....paint the vertical in white, and stain the horizontal dark. I have so many pieces which are the same finish as your cupboard is now,in our family room downstairs and in the computer room, and would love to paint them, but it seems like an overwhelming task..

Hmmm I'm no help when it comes to ideas, but I agree with the idea of white or a different color all together. It's a cute piece.

Love the snow pix. We get little snow here, but I love it:) (Probably because we get so little).

Have fun with this project!

Oh Cindy,
What lovely snow pictures. I have only woken up to a snowy morning once...On a family trip to The Grand Canyon...It was just beautiful. It was all white. Anyway, I can't decided weather I think you should paint your cabinet or stain it. I love both ideas. Well, maybe you can stain the cabinet counter top and paint the rest just like your kitchen counter under the window. I've always love that look. I know whatever you decide will look awesome.

Much love,
♥Ana

Darling Cindy I think your cabinet could be nicer in a pale gray color, and the details and outlines in pale cream (but it would be interesting to see the wall's color, and the other furnitures before choose).
Your landscape pictures are dreamy!
I send you a mail
Hugs!

Your snow is beautiful!! I really don't have any idea as to how you should refinish your cabinet and after reading everyones ideas I am wondering how you will make your decision. Ha!
It will be beautiful whatever you choose.

Hi Cindy!
We woke up to a little snow, too. Not quite as much as you got, but enough to make it all slushy outside. Hmm, I will say paint it white. Although I don't think you could go wrong with either option, I'll say white.

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Nancy

Cindy, the snow looks pretty on the trees but they sure were pretty a few weeks ago with the beautiful colored leaves. I'm glad to be back, thanks for not forgetting about me. As for your cabinet I think it would look nice painted but not too sure about the color. I've seen some pieces painted soft blue or a light sage green and then distressed. Don't know if those colors would go with other colors in the room but it might work. Stay warm!-----------Shannon

Oh my gosh can't believe the snow. I still have leaves falling. I'd probably paint the cabinet...I love painted furniture. Maybe gray? Seems gray is everywhere right now and it's a neutral so it might work. Just a thought!
