Another Curbside Find

Good Monday morning my Friends!!!
A couple of months ago, my husband was out jogging, , and he came home with this wonderful old soft drink box that someone had thrown away.

(Schweppes is written on the top of it.)

I thought I would take it apart and use only the original end pieces, since the other pieces, the plywood sides, are not original to it.  But they did not come off very easily, so I decided to use it as a side table in my kitchen, instead.

What do you think of the skis being there?  I found those in the garbage also.

The vintage Christmas card was one of my moms, from when she was a girl.  It is close to seventy years old and I love it.

It's only 11 deg F. (-11 C) outside today, not bad for December.  Our cold weather often comes in Jan. and Feb., so we are still enjoying sunny, nice days.

Have a beautiful day and thanks so much for coming by and leaving a sweet comment.  If you visit me and leave a comment, then I am able to visit you back.  Recently I have "met" so many new to me bloggers, it has been wonderful!

I am joining Nita at Mod Mix Monday , it's a very fun party!  Check it out!

Warm hugs,

Cindy

What a great thing to find! I've been looking for old wooden soda cases at the thrift store for a few years now but I think people snatch them up and resell them on etsy! I see you made a pillow out that french country towel form Target too - cute!

Merry Christmas!

Cindy, your found box made a nice table to set beside the chair. Looks like it is the right size to fit well under the window. The skis look great there beside the door. I have skied only once in my life but it was fun. Enjoy your not toooo cold weather!----------Shannon

that's a nice rustic piece...great find! I think the skis would look nice on your front porch with a little bough of evergreen attached. However they are also fine where you have them.

Your husband is so good knowing exactly what you like and taking the time to bring it home to you! I think you are very creative making the old crate into such a charming little table. I love the step stool and cushion in your previous post too.

Cindy, I love that old soda pop box and the skiis are ready for you to go out the back door and strap on for a quick ski when the snow comes. LOL I think the box is great as a side 'table'. It's a lovely vignette. It's been fair here lately with pretty good temps around the freezing mark. I think we'll have a green Christmas this year. Have a great week my friend. Hugs, Pam

Hi Cindy~
I like the little curb-shopped crate. It is so cute.
The skis look great there...I don't ski but I could probably fool a couple of people if I had a pair.
What I want to know is What is your floor made of? Is it cork?
Stained concrete?
I can't tell really. But I love it! It has interest and variation.

Love the Christmas decor going on at your house. We've not had 11° temps yet... we've been down to about 29° so far and that is when I lost the tomato plant and had to pick all my green tomatoes!

I made salsa today out of the ripened up ones.

Cindy, your report of your husband's bringing home this find from his morning run reminds me of all the 'loot' I used to find when I ran... one of the many things I miss about running.

You whole collection looks wonderful together. I love that you have one of your mom's cards that is so old. A treasure! Enjoyed my visit. blessings ~ Tanna

Oh my gosh 11 degrees is a nice day? I cannot imagine. It is in the 40s and we think it is cold. We are wimpy here. Love your box. I have one that says Canada Dry on it and haven't decided what to do with it.

I love your soda box, Cindy! I have several wooden crates that I stack and use as bookshelves for my collection of books. I have done this for several years and love the primitive, antiquated look.
I've also got a couple in my craft/sewing room that I'm going to use for shelving as well.
