~Christmas Decor on the Porch~

Hello my friends!
I can't believe that it's Thursday, December the 1st already.
I decorated my tiny little space at the front door yesterday!

I quite like it, it's all stuff that I already had or found in someone's garbage pile.
That's where I got the skis and poles.
The old crock is from my husbands family.  The skates were mine, I wore them for several years.  They hurt me so badly that I can't wear them any longer.
I made the little sign, the wood is recycled.
The lantern and door wreath are both thrift store finds
One of my children made the red star many years ago.

The little Christmas tree is one that I have had indoors most years, but I like it better outside!  All it needs now is for it to snow and it'll look more realistic.  It is supposed to snow this weekend.  YAY!

I have found the most amazing blog for Christmas ideas.  This blog has everything from food, decor, crafts and gifts.  Check out Welsh Cottage On the Hill.

I hope December has dawned sunny and bright and that you are feeling the JOY of the Season today!

Remember that Jesus is still the Reason why we celebrate!

Warm hugs,
Cindy

I love it all! I have most of the same items as you and had planned something similar.
Now I'm itching to get started!
BTW you have very good script handwriting-I can't imagine what mine would look like!

As I was about to say before my IPad went crazy, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house. The vignette is very nice and welcoming. The skates are a nice touch. You have done a good job decorating your porch as well as inside your home.------ Shanno

Cindy, your little porch is so cute and cozy, just like the inside of your house. You do have a knack for decorating. And beautiful lettering on your little piece of recycle wood!

Cindy your porch looks very festive. Do you worry about the crock freezing and cracking? I had to give up skating too as my skates were just too painful on my feet. I loved skating and really miss it. Have a great day tomorrow. Hugs, Pamela

Mom, you found a use for the little tree after all! Your decorations are darling, it looks just like a few kids shucked off their winter gear to race inside for some hot chocolate; I love it. You really do have a gift for making any space beautiful. December did indeed dawn sunny and bright here in Vancouver, but it sure was icy this morning. I slipped and fell twice on my morning walk! (But no real harm done, thankfully) Miss and love you bunches and bunches. xo

I love your entrance sweet Cindy, it reminds me of the entrance in my childhood home in Astoria-Queens, NY. I love it the way you did it, it's so C'mas and wintery like, so holliday season with the skates, adorable! Thanks for sharing. FABBY

Cindy, you have such a creative gift! A lovely wintry, Christmassy collection.
"Welsh Cottage on the Hill" is a very interesting blog. The Paper Christmas trees look beautiful and achievable for most folk. Thanks for directing us there.

I love it Cindy! So adorable! Wish my porch was big enough to do some kind of vignette like this. The skates and the skis really adds that touch of whimsy. Beautiful!

This is a wonderful winter vignette, Cindy! I found a beautiful old Flexible Flyer Sled in a trash can in the park this summer and I am going to decorate it for Christmas and place it by my front door.

I'm looking forward to exploring the blog you recommend! Thanks!

I think it is wonderful that you can put things out on your porch and they don't disappear. I trust that means you live in a nice neighborhood.
Love,

Cute little vignette Cindy! It's amazing what people will throw away.
Have you got your snow yet? We're 'supposed' to get a major snow the first of the week. Unusual for Oklahoma at this time of year even though we got blasted with snow and ice about this time last year. The seasons are achangin'!
Have a glorious day ~

Hello darling friend, so you will have snow!!
Here winter seems doesn't want to come, cold isn't arrived yet, and trees still have leaves on...
I'm starting to do my handmade Christmas gift, I like that so much!

Your front entrance area looks so charming! I love how you've placed the cold season sports equipment out there. It's as if you're ready to go have some fun! Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting me too.

Your little front porch corner may inspire me. I usually hang a wreath on the door and that's it. But I have an old bench that might look nice with a few decorations on it... Enjoy your Christmas preparations Cindy!

Nice and happy; yes, snow would be the added right touch ;-). Speaking of the skates hurting, I wore some shoes the other day and after an hour I could hardly walk. I have very wide feet and although they felt fine at first, I soon realized they were not wide enough!! ohhhhhhhhhhh
