~A Vintage Step Stool Redone~

Hello again,  so nice to have you here.
While working on Christmas gifts, I have been working on a project for me, too.
This is a vintage step stool that my husband found on a curb, he finds the best things for me!!!  He knew I would love it and give it a new lease on life.  It's very sturdy and when I climb on it to reach the higher shelves I never feel like I could fall.

It was okay like this, but just okay, nothing special about it.

But now it's a sweet little step stool that looks like it belongs.  Don't you think?
Red is always my favorite color to use in my house.  You will find it throughout, so it was the perfect thing to use.  My daughter had given the Target tea-towel to me in September, and although I liked it very much, I thought it was crying out to be used in a different way.

And now, I know you're wondering how I used the rest of the tea-towel...

...Ta Da!
The rest of it is now a pillow.  I made a five-minute (for me it's a 30-minute) envelope pillow case and stuffed an old pillow in it.

I hope your day is sunny and bright!
It's chilly but very sunny here in Manitoba.

Warm hugs,
Cindy

Hmmm...maybe I will use it on the dining room chair instead.

You did a great job with that stool, and you're right, it does fit right in! What an AMAZING husband you have, looking out for you in so many different ways. :) Also, I don't remember seeing that candle stand when I was there; is it new? It's really nice. Love you!

Cindy, your husband has a good eye for things that he knows you can make look fabulous! The transformation of the stool is really nice. It's surprising how the right fabric can turn ordinary into something great. Good job. I like the pillow, too. It perks up the dark colored chair, nicely. -----Shannon

You are amazing! 2 great new things and you did it yourself. I am in love with the step stool. Did you take off the steps and spray them? They look perfect. Enjoy your weekend looking at your new stuff!

Hi Cindy, what a great find! and the re-do you gave it is so nice.
I've been thinking that I need a similar stool in my kitchen for my grandchildren to stand on, anything I do in the kitchen while they are here, G and E want to watch and help.

Wow, Cindy! Your step stool turned out so nice! Such a good idea to use a tea towel and then make a cute little pillow! How nice that your husband finds such great things for you! My husband does the same thing!

We had a step stool similar to that when I was growing up. But ours was higher and had a back on it so you could sit in it like a high stool. My Mom always used hers when doing the ironing---It was high enough for this. So it brings back some lovely memories!

That's just too cute! I could not find those tea towels at our Target. They went fast. Who could have guessed that's what it was! You did a fabulous job re-purposing it. Wow! Don't know which one I love the best, the stool or the pillow. Fab!

Oh, the step stool looks so much better! And a cute pillow. The question is...was the lettering already on there or did you put it on and, if so, how???
