Copy Cat

I don't join very many parties, but this is such fun and I love a challenge.

Today I want to show you a picture from one of my favorite books, The Twelve Teas of Celebration by Emilie Barnes and Paintings by Susan Rios.  A dear friend gave this copy to me when my husband was a Pastor in Langley, BC.
I fell in love with Susan Rios' paintings as soon as I saw them, they are all very cottage-y looking.
My favorite one is actually a Fall scene, which I'm not copying, but it's the feeling of the comfy wing-backs and the table cloth on the little table, with the fire in the fireplace.

Doesn't that have the warmest feeling to it?
Well, here's my copy of it.

Okay, I know it's not perfect, but I think it has the feeling, that I loved from Susan's painting.  And it's the feeling that I wanted to copy.

Please take a sip of your tea before it grows cold and help yourself to a Banana Muffin, they're very good.  It's one of the recipes that I got from Kim at Dear Daisy Cottage.  (I miss her, don't you?!)

I've been trying out iPiccy, I think I like it, I was able to put a watermark on my photo, which I have read that we all need to do.  I never have, though, but I think I shall from now on.
Also, my husband has traded his Nikon D60 in for a D80, I talked him into taking these photos for me.  I think he's a terrific photographer, thank you dear.  Yes, he does read my blog, does your sweetheart read your blog?

Have a wonderful week, my friends, and thank you so much for popping over and leaving a sweet comment.
I appreciate you!!!

I'd say that's a GREAT copy! I thought it was the same one at first! And you definitely have that same warm, welcoming feeling - not just here in this post but whenever you show your home on your blog!

Oh how cozy! I love it my dear! It looks every bit as inviting as the photo! And your man sure did a great job with the photography. I'm not sure if James reads my blog or not. I don't think he does on a consistent basis.
I see you learned to watermark! Someone told me it would not prevent piracy b/c it's very easy to remove so I decided to just skip it since it's another time factor. Are you resizing your photos? It's causing me great pains this morning.

your version is beautiful.
I saw Emilie Barnes speak at a womens event at big Baptist church in Moore, OK, must of been 15 years or so ago. She was just as great in person as in her books. It is a very nice memory, I drove there with my mom, daughter and another woman from our church. I even remember the host church served us all the nicest sack lunches with chicken salad and chocolate chip muffins. So thank you for reminding me of that nice day.

Your copy cat is adorable.... I love the chairs pulled into the fireplace and the little lacy table cloth!

So cozy.

Hmmm... does Honey read my blog? Sometimes if I leave the page up-- he's not too computer savvy, so it's not like he goes looking for it to read it. Oh and he reads it when I especially want him too...he acts interested. {wink}

Every home needs a cozy little spot even if it is a copycat. They say that imitation is the best form of flattery, right?
And your home definitely has that cozy little spot!
