Some New Pictures On the Walls

Hi, I'm so glad you've come by today.

After painting my walls, I thought it was time to put something new on the walls.  So I went through all of the pictures that I have and took a good look at what I had on the walls and refilled all of the frames with something fresh.
Next to the armoire I put some vintage bird prints that I found in a book that was printed in 1969.  The name of the bird is printed on the bottom of each picture, which makes it nice.

From farther away.

And below is the other side, the sun was shining into the room so the quality is very poor due to reflections on the glass.

These frames below are the ones that I am most happy with, though, they are maps of where my husband and I were born.

The top one is a map of Saskatchewan and the second one is of Washington state.  A small part of it, that is.

From further back.

The color of my walls are fairly true in these photos, taking photos in the day time is a good idea.  I must remember that.

I notice that many are talking about Spring on their blogs.  Unfortunately we had blizzard conditions in my area today.  When the snow stopped, though, the sky was so blue!

I went out and took a photo of the icicles that are hanging off of our eaves.  Just look at how blue the sky is, oh how I love to see that!

Hopefully Spring is springing in your corner of the world, in North America and Europe at least.  Of course Australia is getting cooler weather and have Winter to look forward to now.

Have a lovely weekend and thanks so very much for coming by to say hi and leave your thoughts on what you have seen today.

Cindy

I love the bird prints you used and the framed maps. My son gave my husband and I framed vintage maps for one of our birthdays. I loved seeing a map of my area of the city from over a humdred yeas ago....so much has changed.

I hope your weather turns warmer soon, Cindy. It has been a very mild winter this year in New York.

It's always a good idea to change the prints or paintings in a room I think - everything seems new again in your cottage and you must be enjoying it.

I like your artwork. OMGoodness, that ice reminds me of last winter in our area. We had a pretty wimpy winter this go around, but this is Illinois, so we could have a blizzard in March. Oh no, I didn't just say that.

Hi Cindy-
I just love the color on your walls.

The artwork of the birds is pretty too. Years ago, I had some pretty prints like that in a stash of school books that I used with the kiddos...don't know what happened to them. They'd be worthy of framing for sure!

It looks so cold there. We had temps in the 80's today and by afternoon, the cold front moved in and they dipped to lower 40's !!!
Normal Texas Weather! We've had rain all day-- and the stock ponds are filling up! Praise the Lord!

Hi Cindy...

Oooh...yes! I love your new bird prints! They turned out beautifully! And...I also love the idea of framing maps of you and your husband's birth place...that's awesome! They look gorgeous on the wall! Cindy, I really LOVE that photo...that you took of the maps...what a beautiful home you have, my friend! I also love that birdcage that I see in that photo!

Well dear lady, sounds like you have been very busy if you have been painting. I plan on doing a little catching up at your place to see your new paint! I hope that my note finds you and your family doing well. I have really missed my blogging and visiting with my friends. Life is beginning to settle down a bit now...so hopefully I can get back into the swing of things!

Have a wonderfully sweet day, dear friend!

Loving the blue skies at your place! It's 80 degrees here today. I'm wondering if we're going to skip spring like we skipped winter.
Beautiful artwork everywhere. And the paint color looks so creamy and delicious!
I relate to picture taking of glass framed artwork. I've tried and tried to capture some photos in my dining room. In the day time, it's the sun and at night time it's the light fixture.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Your bird prints in their warm wood frames look so nice against the lovely new wall colour. Great idea with the maps too.
What a beautiful picture of icicles against that lovely blue sky. They look a bit dangerous!!
Hope your week-end is wonderful and sunny.

Love the new prints! You are really changing your house little by little! And great icicle shot--makes me feel chilly! I'm about to go mow the lawn here--our lush of spring growth, the most fun to mow.

Did you recover a footstool one time not long ago? And maybe did a tutorial? I know I saw one somewhere and now am getting ready to do the same (with a skirt). Let me know, OK? Thanks! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Blizzards you say! Wow. I was outside in short sleeves mowing my lawn (it's not usually so warm so early).

Love your new art. I especially love the framed maps. That's such a sweet idea and really makes it very special and personal art.

Love your bird and map art Cindy. I thought the little bird in the cage was real! (It isn't, is it?) Hope you get some warmer weather soon, although your icicle photo with that blue sky is lovely! Have a good weekend.

I love the pictures, especially of the maps of where you born...what a neat idea!!
And to see the sun shining into your home...what a wonderful sight to see, huh? Here it is we are spraying for weeds and the blossoms are coming out in full force with Spring slowly opening its doors open wide forgetting that it is frightfully cold where you are! Brrr!!
