Favorite Things

Of all the rooms in my house my kitchen is my favorite one to photograph.

Of the vignettes in my home this one is my favorite.

My favorite new finds are:

I found these in Good Will last week.  They look vintage, whether they are or not, I don't know. The first one is of the Manitoba Legislative building in Winnipeg and the second one down is Government House, also in Winnipeg.  They are done by J. VanderSteel.  I like them, but don't particularly like where I put them.  Some things take time.

These are some of my favorite little people to take care of.  I do respite for a foster family here in town, I have these two every so often.  We went for a walk and it was windy and chilly, they insisted on staying at the park to play, but by the time we left they were very cold.  When we got back home they snuggled under a cozy blanket and watched The Berenstein Bears on my DVD player.
They are being moved to another foster family this week, so I won't see them again.  I have had lots of fun with them and will never forget them.

Have a wonderful week, my friends.

Hugs, Cindy

What a great kitchen, I can see why it's your favorite room. I totally understand about giving time to find the right place for things. I most always change where I initially put something brought home from my treasure hunts.

Kitchens are such special places. It is a shame they can't get in contact with you after their move. You would think friends would be keepers no matter what.

Can you believe my kitchen is my least favorite to photograph? It's so bland to me. I love how your layout and the breakup between the cabinets, glass shelves, etc. Just love everything about it. I can see why it's your fave.
Bless those little girls. I bet they will never forget you either!

Hi Cindy, the Oklahoma tornadoes, this last batch anyway, were all in Western Oklahoma. They were not near us or your relatives either. But we did have 2 nights with fierce wind and heavy rain that kept most everyone awake.
Church attendance seemed light on Sunday morning, I think because nobody got much sleep over the weekend.

p.s. I tagged you today. Do not feel obligated. Just thought it was fun.

I love your kitchen, Cindy.. No wonder it is your favorite.. The cupboards with the glass door and the table and chairs and the high window.. I love it all and the color and the floors.. Perhaps, I should stop before I sound kind of envious.. grin..
Love to you dear friend..

Cindy-- I've always loved your kitchen, favorite view is the one in your header.
As to opening your home to foster children, I'm not one bit surprised. You have the gift of 'hospitality'- and sheltering, just comes with it!
I'm sure you'll miss the children-- but perhaps God will put some others in your path, that need your kindness just as much!

many blessings to you, Pat

Your kitchen is surely the heart of your home, and it is beautiful.
Speaking of hearts....yours is so sweet to expand to include children who are being fostered. I can only imagine how cosy and sheltered they must have felt on your couch.

Cindy - what a kind person you are to provide a home away from "home" for these too children. I'm sure they will remember the special times they spent in yur cozy cottage and those special memories may stay with them as they grow and become adults. Your peaceful home may become part of their dreams for the future!
