Apple Blossoms in May

Hello my friends,
I hope this finds you all well and enjoying the Spring weather.
It has been so Summer-like here in the past couple of weeks that it's hard to believe that it is still May.

Our Ladies Conference went very well. I am on the committee this year, so it was a new experience for me to MC one of the services and to be on hand at all times.  Our ladies president is a wonderful Godly woman and the other committee member is none other than my dear Pastor's wife, so they are a wonderful couple of gals to work with.

The ladies on the front row on the far left are my pastor's wife then the Ladies president, our speaker Aurelia Hopkins and then an x-missionary who lives in Western Ontario, Elsie Lund, then me, in the green. The other ladies are from our church and our church's daughter work. It was a very fun time.

Our youngest girl, Marissa, is with us for a few weeks before she is off to her job in Northern Manitoba.
She will be working at North Haven Resort on Utik Lake   that caters to wealthy Americans, mostly. It's a fly-in only resort.

She's taking it easy and enjoying life for a few weeks. She will be working seven days a week for the few months that she's there, so she is enjoying her days off now.
We have been going on long walks every day, it's been wonderful having her here. She is a darling girl, I love her so much. I will miss her laughter and her presence when she's gone.

Our crab-apple tree is in full bloom, it smells divine! Oh how I wish it could look like this all summer.

Our apple tree is also blossoming and my hubby mowed the lawn for the first time yesterday. I love how lush it is. Of course the weeds are trying to take over, but he's pretty diligent about removing them. I see some broad-leaf there in the photo that we missed.

There is truly nothing prettier than blossoms.

This one is the apple tree, so beautiful!!! I really hope that it produces some good apples this year. Last year they turned rotten before they fell off of the tree. Perhaps they did not get enough water, it was a very dry summer.

I took this one at about 8 a.m., you can see the sun in the upper right corner.

I leave in just over two days, I will be popping in to visit occasionally while I'm gone, but I have a feeling that I will be pretty busy.

Well, that's what is happening here, what's happening in your corner of the world?
I will try to get around to see you my lovely friends.
A very happy Mother's Day to my American and Canadian friends, I honor you.
A woman devoted to mothering is a rare and precious gem, imho.

love and hugs, Cindy

I've missed your posts, Cindy. I can see that you are a busy woman - and enjoying that mother/daughter time, too.

I really enjoy the look of the lawn after it has been mown. Nothing like it. It IS hard to keep up with the weeds. (There's a spiritual lesson there, I think....)

I'm looking forward to spending Mother's Day with my parents. Mother is slipping rapidly - especially mentally. Don't know how many Mother's Days I'll enjoy having her with us here on earth.

Our daughter and son-in-law have their hands (and hearts) full as their newborn was readmitted to the hospital. He may be there at least another week. I hope to get to Chicago early next week to see them and do what I can.

May God bless you and and keep you safe, well, and joyful in heart always.

I love the photo of you in your church milieu. When we see someone we 'know' in a different setting, we add a layer to our knowledge.
Are you coming this way? Is the Island on your itinerary? I will be in the Fraser Valley from Sunday through Thursday this coming week and then back to the Island - if you happen to be within meeting distance....

Hi Cindy, I've missed you on here! I'm glad your women's conference was a success. It's nice that Marissa has some down time with you at home before she heads north. I'm sure she'll have a fun summer but the days will be long. Your apple blossoms look beautiful. It sounds like you're in for another hot summer there. We are having a lot of rain again here and next week looks really wet. I hope it improves!! Enjoy your time away and have safe travels. Blessings and hugs,

Oh my goodness you have been busy! Keeps you out of trouble though. :o) So happy you spent some time with your daughter. My father-in-law used to go on fishing trips in Canada where they flew in. Always sounded so remote to me! Your blooming trees are such a blessing. So beautiful. Stay safe on your travels...Ann

I've been busy and haven't been blogging much but I enjoyed catching up on the last few posts. Your apple tree is blossom is spectacular. I remember the beauty of the blossoms in the Okanagan where we lived for 9 years. We had a small orchard with some apple trees and I know the importance of culling the tiny apples so the coddling moth can't get in-between the apples. if three are nestled together two must be culled so that one apple can grow. That was always hard to do but a necessary step in growing good apples. Have a wonderful trip to the coast Cindy. if i remember rightly Nanaimo and a trip to Washington will be on your agenda. Happy Holidays!

Cindy I talked about culling but really what I meant was thinning. I realized this after talking over the process with the farmer.
