School House Drop Lights

A good Monday to you, my friends.
Another weekend is past and I can't help but wonder where it went.
Our youngest, Marissa, is here visiting for three weeks and we have been on the go pretty much every day.
That's part of the reason why I have not been around here on my little blog.

I realized today, though, that I have not shown you my newest addition to the kitchen.
School house drop lights.

They match the main light in the kitchen.

Before

After

I'm embarrassed to say that I was given these way back in May for Mother's Day.
Marissa was with us then for three weeks, just before she went to Lake Utik to work for the Summer.

That was when the Lilacs were in bloom and before I had found this darling little picture on Vancouver Island.
Below.

In fact that was before I showed you the embroidery on the tea-towel that my sweet little granddaughter embroidered for me.

Where has the Summer gone?

I hope you have had a warm and wonderful Summer.
I'm so grateful to be here in Manitoba where the Summers are hot and Autumn extends into November.
I'm really looking forward to Autumn.
Are you?

Have a fabulous day!

Hugs, Cindy

I'm very grateful for the Summer that was and still is.
I hope you feel that way too.

Like the lights! Did you just have to switch out the glass or the whole thing? Very retro ... and I am old enough to remember them in school!

Your granddaughter's hand work is very nice! Enjoy the time with your daughter.

Hi Cindy, it all looks rather lovely! Yes, actually I am looking forward to Autumn. We haven't had much of a summer in England at all this year. I'm looking forward to the rustle of autumn leaves underfoot and a change of scenery!
Have a lovely week. Sharon :)

I just found your lovely blog. I love your kitchen. I also was born in the US, to a Canadian mother and an American father. We moved to Canada in 69, I love Canada but I do have patriotic feelings toward the USA.

Hi Cindy--
I really like your lights. My kitchen is so dark. I've been thinking of adding lights in there. We have an eat in kitchen which is a pretty good size considering how small the house it...but since it only has one source of natural light...it seems dark.
I'd like something like this that hangs...right now, we have ceiling fans.

The seasons seem to go by much quicker these days, huh?
...have a great week, Pat

I like your lights very much. We have pot lights in our kitchen and I'd much prefer drop lights.
Autumn is my favourite season too - and it is nice and long here on the coast.

Too fast! Time is just flying by too fast. But I am looking forward to the autumn and winter seasons, my favorite time of the year. In the mean time warmer weather is predicted for the next few days...Yikes! :-)

Much love,

I love your new school house lights! They realy suit your kitchen's vintage theme. It's been a beautiful hot summer here too and it continues. I guess it will be a lovely fall too according to the weather prognosticators. :) I've been away a lot and now have a few days to myself to get caught up. Take care. Blessings, Pam

Hi Cindy,

Love the lights...and you know I love your kitchen...I remember way back when as you were just starting the remodel and I am sure you have gotten so much enjoyment of this beautiful space and so fun to see all of the little touches that keep adding to the charm...even the dish towel your grand daughter made...wonderful details! seems you have had a busy and fun summer...somehow I think real life crept in to all of our summers and took time away from our blogs...I know it did mine...anyway always a pleasure to visit here and praying it will be a delightful autumn for us all. Best, Jermaine
