Cleaning and Changing Go Hand in Hand

Hi, I'm so glad you've come by today.
I've been dusting and sweeping and changing... that always seems to be what happens when I clean.
They seem to go hand in hand.

I took down the map pictures that were on the wall to the right, at the end of the couch.
I put the fall picture there that was on the mantel.
But it needs something else underneath it.

I moved my old trunk in to use as a coffee table.
An I put my old fan on a tray that my hubby made for me years ago, on top of a very old crocheted runner that my oldest daughter gave to me about 10 years ago.
And my favourite books are there too... one that Greet gave me and a vintage book about Winnipeg that my sister Sue gave me. Sweet memories...we need them around us, don't you think?
The Ikea footstool is now moved to here...

It feels like a chaise when you sit there now.

And it kind of looks like one, too.
I love the knitted throw that's on the back of the chair across the way, very cozy!

Nothing spectacular, just having fun... and I know most of you know what I mean.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving, we had a lovely meal of ham, home grown mashed potatoes and a corn salad, with rolls and Pumpkin Buckle... so good! Everything was delicious and the company of my son and his wife and two kids was even better. I thank God for family, I think I'd die if I did not have them.

What have you been doing?
What do you serve on Thanksgiving?

Have a blessed and happy day!

The sun is pouring through the windows now, but just a few minutes earlier it was snowing. Huge snow flakes were falling, so pretty.
I think we're in for an early winter. This is the third snow fall... but none of it stays on the ground. It melts immediately.

Your room is so cozy, Cindy. I just love the trunk and it is exactly the kind of look I want in our living room, especially with the crocheted piece to bring some light to it. Love the wing chair slips and the turquoise with red. I Don't have red on our main floor but I am thinking of adding it to the blues in our basement rooms.

I was using my iphone before (small photos) and had to come back to take a second look. Love the aqua suitcase and pillows too. We had a lovely Thanksgiving for 19 with turkey, mashed potatoes, turnip, lots of veggies, cranberries and 3 kinds of pie. I wondered when the snow would come, we haven't had any yet but had to turn the heat on this weekend.

Hi Cindy-- I must have missed telling you Happy Thanksgiving...I tried to remember to tell all the ones I frequent. So Happy Thanksgiving.
Your dinner sounds delish!
We have too much food--always. We have a large family and there is always food for others to take home.
...I love the little changes around your home. I like the ottoman and chair together. I have an ottoman, I use it like a chaise too. Although they are never covered in the same material...I should make a point of doing that.
I'm very much in love with the REDS AND TURQUOISE in your room... they grab my attention lately (those two colors)!!!

have a great week. Stay warm. Snow...sounds fun. I think we're going to have an early winter and a cold one too. Pat

Hi Cindy,
I love your front room and your fireplace is one of my favorites! I love brick I always have. Your knitted throw is lovely it caught my eye right away. I always do the same thing as you, as I clean and dust I move things all around. Our weather has been cooling down, Yeah! We are so ready for Fall. Sound like you are already having winter. Cindy what is pumpkin buckle? I have not heard of it before.
I can't wait to see the quilt you are making for your daughter. I have one to sew for my grand-daughter and she keeps reminding me LOL so I guess I better get started on it this weekend.
Sending love and hugs, keep warm.

I like the changes you've made. I've got an old trunk (my grandmother's) that I used as a coffee table for a while but then moved it into the bedroom. I think it warms up your living area very nicely and adds such charm. Thanksgiving and snow already?!?! Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you and your family!! Yes, having family is such a blessing and I'm glad you got to spend the holiday with part of them.

Fall is my favorite time of year! I just love the colors and I love how we can blend them nowadays with the popular torquoise. Your home always looks so sweet and inviting.

Happy belated Thanksgiving, Cindy! Your home looks so warm and welcoming. I love your old trunk used as a coffee table! I have two old trunks --one was my husband's parents' trunk and one was my father's mother's trunk. They both need a lot of work to bring them up to par as decorative pieces. They will be future projects for me!
