Christmas in the Dining Room

I have made a few changes around here, trying to make what room I have work a little a little more efficiently. It's difficult with a small house to do that, sometimes.

I want to try and make good use of the room that I have, so I moved the dining room table and chairs into the sunroom.
And I moved the small table that was in there, into my kitchen. I think it will work better, particularly when we have company. We don't often have people over, mainly because my house is just too small.
Hopefully, this will make it live larger.

I aim to paint this room the same as the living room, soon.
Then it will look much better.
I am thinking that I will make slipcovers for the leather parson chairs, and I have the light fixture that was in the kitchen that I can put in here. I will show you that when it happens.
The hubs is not working right now, so I will prevail upon him to do this for me.

The Christmas decor is simple and sparse.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend and looking forward to another beautiful week.
Our winter weather has been above freezing off and on, and the snow is melting. Hopefully, very soon it will get cold and stay cold!

Hugs, Cindy

Looking good so far.

I can well relate to having a small space and trying to make the best use of it. I have been on a major decluttering mission for some time now and have gotten rid of a lot. Now I can breathe a bit, lol. I can't get rid of much more as I have a lot of craft projects I want to work on in future. It is really my crafts and books/papers that take up the little space I have.

I think simple Christmas decor is good, especially in a small space. I only have a wreath hanging at the fire place. I hope to get my small tree up very soon.

Enjoy rearranging your space.

I live in a small house too Cindy, so I can totally relate. I even find it hard to move things around sometime because I have no where to put things! Love your simple decor! Have a lovely week and stay warm! Angie xo

It seems when one goes away for a while you come back home with fresh ideas. I know you make small changes often, but it's very satisfying to make bigger changes. You're fortunate to have your husband home to help you.
It's great to see your Christmas decor starting to appear.
I really love your blog, Cindy and missed you while you were away.
Happy day!
Betty

Your home is looking lovely! We have a very small home, also. I am always "thinking" how best to use the space I have.
Here in GA, it was 76* today! Definitely did not feel like Dec.!

I've got a small apartment, so space is one of my big issues. Trying to give away lots of things to open up the space. Your decorations are lovely.

It is a good idea to be creative and make your spaces work as efficiently as possible. Our home is not huge but way more space than we need or can afford to furnish, even with teenagers. I look forward to the day when I can downsize.

Hi Cindy! I love your changing out the tables. You say your house is small but you make it look large with good use of your space and so pretty. I have a pretty big house but I have so much stuff it feels small! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

It looks like we both have been moving things around. I hope your new eating area on the sunporch might work for having guests. It's always such a treat to see pictures of your beautiful home. Love your header.

Cindy,

Somehow you fell off my blogroll?! I have missed you!

I like a simple Christmas palette, so it doesn't compete with everything else! Lovely!
Hoping you are well...

That's a great idea to switch out dining tables in that way. Slipcovering the chairs will be nice too. There's always something to fix, paint or redecorate even in the smallest space isn't there? Have a great week! Hugs, Pam

I'm with you...not a lot of space for get togethers. Making the most of your space is 'priority'!
I'm intrigued. I can't wait to see what you do with it all!
No doubt it will be lovely!
