Faux Blinds

Winter has descended upon us once again.
The snow and ice were thawing rapidly the first half of this week.
But everything is frozen tight again today.
I've had good reason to enjoy my homemade Chicken Pot Pie Soup.
It was -25 Celsius when I got up this morning.
It made for a very cold walk!
The snow is falling gently from the sky,
God is in His heaven and all is well with my world.

Yesterday I made a couple of faux blinds for my living room.
They are simply tacked up, yes, with tacks.
Simple.

I think it has given the room a finished look.

I like it, partly, I think because it covers up the unattractive frame of the storm windows.
I intend to make some working blinds for my eating area and kitchen.

That may happen next week.

What have you been up to?

Have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs, Cindy

This window will get blinds to match the living room window.
I think it will look alright.

Oh, Cindy! What a great "finishing touch" those blinds are. (Wish I could say I've been 1/2 as creative as you.)

I appreciate your comment, "God's in His heaven and all's right with my world." He does keep us in "perfect peace", doesn't He?

Hi Cindy, can't even imagine -25C! So cold, but warm inside right, do you have central heating in Canada like we do in UK? Love the red check blinds, funny enough I've also been thinking of blind makeovers. You've done a great job, I'm still thinking about mine...have a lovely weekend! Sharonx

I think it looks more than alright!
It's so amazing how much cheer red checks can add to a room.
I love your deer pillow too. I wanted to do one, but haven't gotten around to it yet...
We have loads of snow here still and the high was in the high teens!

Hi Cindy,

Have to admit I am a bit jealous of the snow...of course that's easy for me to say all tucked away here in Cali, although we have had quite a cold winter for us. Love you new blinds and the pop of color they add...your turquoise and red touches are such a fresh and cheerful addition.

Stay warm and enjoy your soup...

Best,

Jermaine

I think your blinds are the perfect thing for those windows. Quick, easy and if you want to change them out it's no big deal. Something like that would work well in my half bath off my kitchen. Thank you for the inspiration! It's cold here too. I think I've about had enough. :o)

Some pops of color are always so welcome in winter, my darling friend, true? OMG you have soooo much cold there, I'm always surprised about how the temperature can be so cold! Here it seems we already are having the first spring days, but time is still far...
A big hug my darling!

The checkered Faux Blinds does give a unique and playful touch to the room. The white curtain also gives a warm appeal. I love how these two window treatments beautifully complement the interiors. Well done! +Rene Veeravalli

Nice flaux Blinds. I also hope that you have some ideas for window shades. I'm looking for one in my house. But if you have some ideas on how to make my personalized blind, it would be awesome.
