Interesting title, huh?
You're probably wonderful "what does that mean".
I'm joining a little meme today called "Random 5 Friday" at
Spring
Please forgive me, but I am feeling a little crazy today.
It is NOT spring-like outside
but rather, it is -14 deg. Celsius and with wind chill it feels like -30 deg. C!
I am praying that spring is right around the corner, though.
Here is the one sign of spring that we've seen so far,
besides a few water puddles, that is.
Those icicles prove one thing...the sun has been warm enough to melt some of the snow on the roof...and there's a ton up there!
Colour
I am craving colour so strongly!
I completely finished the crocheted rug and have put it back on the kitchen floor.
It feels good to see it there.
I put it over on the other end of this area and I'm thinking I need to make another one for that area in front of the window.
Shopping
I went to one of my favourite thrift shops yesterday and found this piece of fabric.
Five yards of it and for $7.99!
Aren't the colours perfect?
It's an indoor-outdoor fabric and my mind is reeling!
I'm wondering, should I make slip covers for my dining room chairs?
OR
Should I make more pillows for this room?
OR
Should I use it in my screened in porch?
So many wonderful possibilities...
I have searched our fabric store for one piece of fabric that has turquoise, red, yellow and a bit of green in it and come up empty every time.
Then I found it in a thrift store.
Who knew?!
Home
There is truly no place more wonderful than home and I'm very grateful for a warm and cozy home to snuggle up in during a long, cold winter.
You
I am also very grateful for YOU. My friends that I have made around the world mean a lot to me.
Thank you for coming by here week after week and leaving a friendly greeting each time.
It does mean a lot to me.
I am trying to stay busy with projects and cleaning.
But life does get pretty lonely.
Thank you for being a friend.
Hugs, Cindy

I'm very ready for spring, too. Though it really hasn't been such a harsh winter here, I just have felt cold constantly! Ready for some warmth and SUNshine.

Hi Cindy, the weather your side seems pretty harsh compared to what we have here in the UK. I can imagine you are a little 'cabin crazy' at this stage. I love the floral fabric you found, would make stunning cushions to bring spring inside while the ice melts outside! Wishing you a lovely weekend. Sharon x
Awww you're so sweet! Love visiting you!!
What a pretty kitchen you have. It makes me want to paint my cabinets every time I see it!!

Lovely kitchen and rug!
That fabric is so pretty...bright and cheerful!
My weather is warming up -- the humidity is rising and I'll soon be complaining it's too warm -- I'd be happy to send you some! I like the rug in your lovely kitchen and the wonderful fabric you found. Nice to meet you, Cindy!
Hope Spring arrives soon for you- it is in the 70s today and I am loving it!
Wow! You are still in a deep freeze. I pray you get some warmer weather soon. Here is warmer but still not Spring-like. I too yearn from some brighter days. Hugs. xx
Wow -- don't stand anywhere near those icicles! It could be dangerous!
Love, love your kitchen. Those cabinets are gorgeous.
Thanks so much for sharing at R5F this week -- very much appreciated Cindy.

Friend, those icicles are amazing. But inside your house is so warm and cozy and colorful! Wonderful little rug. Yes make another companion to it. As far as the fabric, what a find for you. I think seat cushions would be wonderful and bring your colors together, but so would anything else you would make! Have a good weekend!
Dear Cindy,
You bring so much cheer to your blog friends. Every post lifts my spirit. Wish I could teleport you down here to experience the weather we have had over summer. It would certainly thaw you out:)
Colour certainly makes a difference to one's mood. I love your bright rugs. Finding such delightful material to fit in with your decor was fortunate indeed.
Thank you for your always warm welcome to your home. It is so lovely and your sweet personality shines through its cosy, bright rooms.
Hope the sun starts to melt those icicles very soon.
A warm hug, Betty

Hi Cindy! I'm so glad to have met you in Blogland! Now I love your fabric you found and it is just perfect in your living room. Those icicles look dangerous! Don't stand under one! :) Sorry it's still so cold at your house. It's been almost 70' here. Spring break is going on and our little island is sinking with all the families having fun on the beach! :)
Pack your suitcase and come on down! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi. Here from Random 5 Friday. I'm a newbee too. I love the fabric you picked and I vote you make all the above. I don't think you could have too much of it!
Just a hop skip and a just away - from province to province that is and i know exactly what you're feeling. I cancelled a doctor's appt in a town an hour and a half away on Wed because of the whiteout conditions and today it looks like our plans of driving 2 hours to the city for an overnight stay might fall through due to the heavy snowfall. That means we will miss a triple birthday dinner at a wonderful Chinese restaurant and the Edmonton Symphony tonight. On March 18th we'll have had snow on the ground for six months. Enough!
Keep smiling Cindy..."Hope Springs Etearnal" as my sister often says.
I remember our years in Alberta and how I believed that March must surely have 100 days. It was so long and cold.
The piece of fabric is truly lovely - all those gorgeous colours! Cushion covers would be a good idea because you could move them around to wherever you need a jolt of colour.
Hi Cindy!
I love that fabric you found. The colors are beautiful. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Cindy
I consider you one of my 'bestest'
of blogging friends! You are a kindred spirit, for sure.
I never tire looking at your home and the extra touches you add to make it so cozy.
Here, like there in your neck of the woods, it's no where near Spring. Our icicles all melted(we have a metal roof), but then it had to go and snow again last night
I think your rug turned out so well and another one would look great in front of the window.
Take care-Kimberly
Wow it is so cold there, Cindy! Just the thought of that temperature made me shiver. I'd be sittig by the fire as mush as possible, but you have the right idea to keep busy and making beautiful handiwork. Your carpet is so bright and cheerful and I can't wait t see what you make with that pretty fabric!
Love your rug full of vibrant colors! Hang in there, surely warm weather is on the way!!!
Great fabric, can't wait to see what you do with it...
Blessings,
Cindy
I love your icicle pictures! It sounds lovely to cozy up at home:) I've lived in warm weather since I was 14 but I do crave some snow now and then! Love your little pops of color in the kitchen!
Benn a New Yorker, I do love and miss winter and why not, white C'mas! I adore the four seasons, each one, but my fav is FALL, as I am a fall girl. Your icicles are images are lovely, thank you for sharing. Your home looks warm and inviting. Hugs,

That fabric was an amazing find! Love your rug too! Life to the full, Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle
I definitely think you should make another rug...I love it by the window. The fabric? Oh my gosh what a find. Someone was cleaning out their fabric hoard! Have a good week and I hope your weather has improved. ~Ann
