Lilac Dreams & A Blue Frame

We are enjoying a beautiful, warm and breezy Monday morning.

At 10 a.m. it was already 20 deg. C, that's about 68 deg. F.
Perfect weather!

I must have the slowest Lilac bush in North America.
I have been waiting forever for it to bloom so I can cut it back. Currently, it has taken over our walk-way to the back of the garage.
But I did not want to cut it back, because the part that is over hanging is the only part that really blooms.

Aren't lilacs gorgeous!?

The back of our garage...lovely is it not, the lilacs not the garbage containers.

To prove my point regarding my late bloomers,
this photo was taken a couple of weeks ago.
See, my lilac bushes are s.l.o.w...

But they are lovely and that is what matters.
Do you see the Bumble Bee on the blossoms?

The Peonies will soon be busting forth, do you see the bug on the leaf?
I'm not sure what it is, but it's ugly!

I painted this frame blue last week and then forgot to
show you.

It's a mottled finished, but I like the way it turned out.

I prettied up my bike a little in the back garden with flowers that grow like weeds.

I am off soon to see Alaine's garden today.
Perhaps she will let me take a few photos to show you.

Have a lovely Monday!

What a lovely post. It made my heart sing. My mom always loved lilacs and so do I. I wish I could catch the lovely fragrance thru viewing your photos. :)

There are many lilac varieties out there, Cindy, that bloom at different periods so I guess you have a late blooming one. They sure are beautiful too! I love the frame. Cute idea. It's been hot and humid here but the rest of the week looks wet and cooler. :( Of course the long weekend is coming up so I guess it has to rain. Have a good week my friend!

Your screened porch just keep getting cuter!
Our lilacs have just bloomed in the last week too and our peonies are only a foot high yet.
Love the blue on that frame.

I love lilacs and yours are beautiful! Our lilac bush doesn't produce beautiful flowers anymore:( Your bike looks so pretty in your garden. I have one and enjoy changing out the flowers in my bike basket with each season. Hope you have a wonderful day, Gail

P.S. I bet you are enjoying that beautiful porch of yours!

Just gone through your blog for the first time.

I love it. You are so creative.

Strange that your lilacs are still in bloom (ours have been gone for over a month now, but this is cold Belgium and not North-America).
I like the way you show all the flowers (peonies are my favorites as well)

If you want to have a peek at my blog (and my flowers) feel free to have a look:

Love to smell lilacs!! Sadly, they don't do well this far south. It was 93 today when I came inside. Enjoy that perfect weather and your beautiful slow bloomers! blessings ~ tanna
ps love the blue you used on the frame.

Lilacs are my absolute favorite, Cindy! How wonderful!
Your slipcover on the previous post is darling. I'm going to keep that in mind for a chair I just picked up.

Lilacs and peonies are two of my very favorites. I don't have any lilacs and so wish I did. I planted a few peonies last year but they didn't really bloom. Maybe next year! Temps are hot here so I am envious of your 68 degrees. Sounds like you are enjoying your summer! I wish I could get here to visit more often. Things aren't good with my parents and I'm spending a lot of time with them. It's hard to keep up with my blog sometimes...thank you for being such a good friend! ~Ann

I love lilacs--late blooming is special as you extend the season! I enjoyed seeing more about Winnipeg on your prior post and your new decorative pieces, Cindy, You have been busy! I watch my granddaughter all day and after making dinner and doing dishes I'm too tired to move :)
