$1 Vintage Lamps

Now some of you may think I'm a wee bit off my rocker, but I LIKE my "new" lamps.
I don't know which decade they are from, if someone can tell me I'd appreciate it.
I'm thinking it's the 60's or 70's.
To me they're lovely and "Vintage".

This is one of them and…

 …here's the other one.

At first I thought I would paint them, but upon second thought, I've decided to leave them as is.
They cleaned up very nicely.
I will refinish the bottom piece, it's wood and it's lost it's finish.
I need to find lamp shades for them now.
That will be what I'm looking for this winter in the
thrift stores.
I really like the size, colour and the shape of them.
And…they only cost me $1.00 a piece at a garage sale.

I promised you a couple of photos of my friend's farmhouse.
This is the vignette that welcomes visitors on her back porch.

The gourds, in the picture below, in the pretty basket are from her garden, sitting in her dining room.

And…

This is her pretty yellow dining room with a large square table sitting in the middle of it.
I love this room.
It is filled with vintage pieces, like an old sewing machine, a beautiful old wood cookstove and even crocks, if my memory serves me correctly.
I wish I had taken more photos.
She served us a delicious Chick Pea Soup and fresh homemade rolls!!!
Very yummy.
Thank you Jackie for the sweet visit and for your kind hospitality.

Have a wonderful week, my friends and thank you so very much for coming by and leaving me a sweet comment.

Cindy- What a lovely warm room your friend has there. And I love the porch, too. It says WELCOME, doesn't it?

I like your lamps. I would guess 1960's? They actually look pretty good.

Hope you had a wonderful Monday- xo Diana

Cindy- I love the lamps.
Great price too!
Do they have a name on them? Maybe on the bottom or around the bulb fixture? That might help with a date or find something more about them. I always try to find out as much as I can sometimes. I bet they are older than you think... I'm thinking late 50's early 60's maybe.
I bet they would look wonderful with some drum shades. I can see why you like them so much.
Your friend has a lovely home. So cozy looking. Nice of you to share the pictures. I like the yellow in her dining room.

The lamps look great - very 1960s. The design on them is very simple so they actually go with lots of different styles.

Your friend has a lovely warm dining room. What a pretty crop of gourds and squash she produced. She was wise to plant the blue-gray ones as they are so pretty.

I'd say the lamps are 50's or 60's. Probably early 60's would be my guess. Love the pumpkins!

Great deal on those lamps! They look very mod to me so I would say 60's?

Hi Cindy, I love how your home is just becoming more and more vintage, and more 'you' as you add more personal items you enjoy. Love the ceramic lamps just as they are too...good luck finding some great shades, although those on them are pretty good too! Sharon x

Thanks for visiting A Joyful Cottage. I'm returning the visit. :) Can't believe you picked up those lamps for $1/each. I'm guessing the 60's, and I agree that you shouldn't paint them. They look great as they are. Your neighbors porch and dining room are so welcoming. I love farmhouses. XX, Nancy

Dear Cindy,

What a bargain you made on those lamps. They make your house more cosy than it allready was. (and that was a great deal even before)

I like your beautiful doors with the squares in the glass.
And also the porch of your friends.

The yellow room doesn't look as yellow as the quilt in my pictures which I think you have already seen in :

I like the way they look as is; I definitely think they are from the 70s, but a pro would have to confirm my suspicions!
